Welcome to Quality Quilting!

I am honored you are considering me to finish your quilt! I want you to be thrilled with the final results, so here is some information for you about my business.

About Quality Quilting

Patterns

I have hundreds of computerized quilting patterns for you to choose from, and every effort will be made to find a pattern that you love.  I want you to be completely satisfied with the results, so I will work with you to choose the pattern(s) that best complements your quilt top in a unique way.

My Home

I've been running Quality Quilting from my home since 2011. I have had a love for quilting for many years, and this seemed like the perfect way for me to share that love with others! Since Quality Quilting is in my own house, I can keep a careful eye on your quilt from the moment you drop it off to the moment you pick it up again. There is no smoking in my home, so your quilt top will go home smelling as fresh as when it arrived.  We have a dog and a cat, but neither is allowed in my sewing room.  However, if you are highly allergic to animals, you may want to take your quilt top to someone else.

Batting

Batting from a roll is available for purchase from me if you would like.  Unlike batting in a bag, the batting on a roll does not have wrinkles or thin patches. I carry an 80/20 poly/cotton blend that has a low loft.  It has a 3% shrink in the wash, so the shrinkage will be minimal. The cost is $2.00 per 1 foot x 9 foot strip, so a queen size quilt would be about $20.  I buy in bulk, so I’m able to pass along the savings to my customers.

Thread

I use high quality polyester thread.  If I don’t have the color that you want, I will purchase it for you (single-colored thread is included in the cost of the quilting; an extra charge will apply for specialty or variegated thread).  If more than one thread color is used on the quilt top, a $5.00 charge will be added for each additional color.

Preparing Your Quilt

Should you choose me to finish your quilt, here are some steps to take in order to achieve the best results.

1

Make sure both your quilt top and backing are ironed well.

2

Please have the backing squared, and the seams pressed flat.

3

Do not baste or pin the quilt layers together. This is not necessary with long arm machine quilting, as the top and back are loaded separately onto a quilting frame.

4

Make sure the backing and batting are at least 3 inches larger on all sides than your quilt top. This allows room for me to pin the pieces on the quilt frame, and to get the proper tension without stretching your quilt.
